Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are focused on narrative and creative non-fiction works from writers based in Southeast Asia, or Southeast Asian diaspora writers. We do not currently publish works that are fiction (i.e. general fiction, poetry, plays) — with the rare exception of such pieces appearing in the 2025 anthology, “The Missing Anthology: Stories from Singapore’s Sex Workers”.

  • We ship via Singapore Post. Singapore and international orders will be sent by registered mail.

    We will email you a tracking number which you can use to track the movement of your registered article here.

  • For Singapore customers, delivery is SGD 3.50 for up to 2kg of books, and free for purchases above SGD 50!

    For international delivery, we charge a rate based on weight and location (which is calculated at checkout):

    Malaysia & Brunei: SGD 8-24 

    Asia & the Pacific (excluding Australia, Japan & New Zealand): SGD 13-39

    United States: In direct response to recent changes in the United States (U.S.) import regulations which removed de minimis exemptions for shipments, all items with commercial value shipped to the U.S., will now be subject to new duties and taxes starting 29 August 2025. 

    Faction Press uses SingPost, which requires shipments to be packed in one of two standard packaging options — envelope (16.2 x 22.9cm) (SGD 29) or a box (31 x 23 x 9cm) (SGD 69), both provided by SingPost at a flat shipping rate. Write to us if you would like to discuss mailing options.

    Rest of the World (including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East): SGD 14-46 

  • We will process web store orders within 2–3 business days of receipt. For example, if you place an order on Wednesday, it may not ship until Friday. 

    Shipping estimate for Singapore addresses after mailing out: 3-4 business days.

    Shipping estimate for international addresses after mailing out: 5-21 business days (subject to customs clearances)
