"The Saga Podcast Transcripts" by Kelly Leow and Jasmine Ng
In March 2009, 100 strangers arrived at a routine meeting of Singapore's leading gender-equality organisation, AWARE, and staged a shocking takeover. What followed — a public battle over faith, power and civil society — became the stuff of national legend.
That story was told in Saga, AWARE's critically acclaimed 12-episode podcast co-produced by Kelly Leow and Jasmine Ng. Released in 2020 and 2021, it was Singapore's first long-form narrative podcast, winning Silver at both the 2022 Anthem Awards and the 2023 Signal Awards for its gripping storytelling and social insight.
Now, Saga is available in print! We are very proud to publish The Saga Podcast Transcripts: Fury, Faith and the Fight for Justice in the AWARE Saga, which compiles all 12 episodes — drawing on firsthand testimonies from activists, observers and ordinary citizens, alongside a foreword by diplomat Professor Tommy Koh and an introduction by Saga host and journalist Bharati Jagdish.
The eye-catching cover art of the Saga podcast would unquestionably be the cover art of The Saga Podcast Transcripts.
The 324-page book hits select Singapore bookstores on 20 March 2026, with all net proceeds going to AWARE. The first book of its kind in Singapore, it transforms an award-winning audio experience into a lasting record of one of the most dramatic episodes in the nation's civil society history — and a story whose questions about women, power and faith continue to resonate far beyond Singapore's shores.
A note on the book design: This book uses Swiss binding — a technique where the cover is intentionally left unattached to the spine, allowing the book to lie completely flat every time you open it. A huge thank you to creative studio SWELL for partnering with us on the exterior and interior design of this title!
Faction Press’s first title that has Swiss binding!
