"Malayland" by Dina Zaman
We are very pleased to announce the publication of our third book, Malayland, by Dina Zaman.
Cover art of “Malayland”.
A co-publication by Faction Press and Ethos Books, in collaboration with Sivagurunathan & Chua Literary Agency, Malayland is the personal and sociological reflection of a Malaysian on what it means to be Malay and Muslim in the 21st century.
Nearly two decades after the release of I Am Muslim, Dina Zaman examines questions of identity, belonging, and the socio-political forces shaping Malaysia today. An exploration of the frustrations and hopes of ethnic Malays navigating a rapidly changing world, Malayland looks into developments spanning the 1998 Reformasi movement to today’s digital activism, and charts the undercurrents of a country fighting for a desired identity.
Malayland will be available in all major bookstores in Singapore and Malaysia.
If you're in Singapore, you can purchase the paperback edition from Ethos Books, Kinokuniya and Book Bar.
