We had a pretty action-packed evening on 5 January with the launch of Ooi Kee Beng's "Signals in the Noise: Notes on Penang, Malaysia and the World" at the wonderful, eclectic Book Bar. We were so thrilled to have a full room and attentive audience who listened to Kee Beng and our publisher Shu Wen talk about why he writes, how writing helps one to process thoughts (say no to thought constipation!), the role public intellectuals play in making concepts accessible, and the value of empathy in listening and writing.
Another piece of news we'd like to celebrate is the official publication of the e-book editions of Signals in the Noise across several major e-book platforms! We're very happy to have collaborated with Germany-based Hallenberger Media for this book project.
You can get a copy from anywhere you get your e-books:
(We would also appreciate you leaving reviews of the book on Goodreads if you're a Goodreader!) We'll be taking a break from organising events while we work on our next book project (!) — watch this space for more details on that. As always, get in touch with us at hello@faction.press if you have any questions or comments, or would like to review "Signals in the Noise"!
